Catriona's atmospheric seascape paintings lie somewhere between abstraction and realism. She works in acrylic, sometimes using collage and text to build up a multi layered surface that offers the viewer a sense of the sea and shoreline that is 'felt' rather than 'seen'. Referecing map making and the shipping forecast, Catriona's seascapes are often painted from an arieal perspecitive.
