Kerr Rodgie was born in the Scottish Borders, to a highly artistic family; Kerr's mother and grandfather are both noted artists. He attended Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, and now lives and works in London, making regular visits back to Scotland to gather source material. A young, emerging artist, Kerr is now in great demand.
With his roots firmly in the Scottish Borders, Kerr is often inspired by the richly coloured landscape of rolling hills, woodland and the River Tweed, it's such a picturesque area that it can't fail to inspire. However, he is currently exploring contemporary landscape painting in oils and recently became interested in the rugged west coast of Scotland and Skye in particular. He enjoys the interaction of light and water mixed in mountain landscape and he tries to capture the atmosphere, colour and texture of the moment.
