Bill Reid studied drawing and painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee between 1973 and 1977, he studied under Alberto Morrocco along with other well-known Scottish artists such as Jack Knox and Mackintosh Patrick.
After leaving art college, Bill pursued a career as a freelance illustrator, he now paints full time. Bill finds the sea a constant source of inspiration, working in oils to depict impressionistic seascapes and colourful harbours.
One of the highlights of Bill's early career was selling a painting to the Duke of Edinburgh at the annual RSA exhibition which now hangs in the private apartments of Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. Bill has participated in various group exhibitions in Scotland including the Sea Exhibition in 2003 curated by Richard Demarco and the annual MacMillan Cancer Relief show.
