Rosie Playfair graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Graphic Design. For the next 25 years Rosie focused on her successful PR and marketing career with Edinburgh firm PlayfairWalker until she was eventually persuaded by an artist friend to revisit her artistic side.
Subsequent praise and demand for her 'sketches' sparked a renewed passion for both drawing and painting. Rosie's work is now in private collections in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Paris, Italy and St Tropez, and recent gallery exhibitions have included The Urbane Art Gallery, Edinburgh, The Sutton Gallery, Edinburgh, The Green Gallery, Stirling, Gallery Q, Dundee and the Alessandro Studios, Dundee.
Her eclectic and versatile style is more 'designerly' than painterly, but is driven by the need to produce something which is attractive to look at.
Rosie's stylised and varied subject matter covers everything from landscapes to animals, and still life to abstract, but for her own enjoyment she likes to paint and draw nudes and trees - sometimes even together.
