Hugely talented, Ewan is fast establishing himself as one of Scotland's leading portraiture and still life artists. From competing in the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition to exhibiting at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual show in London, Ewan has garnered much press and media attention, and now is highly sought after for commission works.
Now living and working just outside of Edinburgh, Ewan studied painting under Alexander Fraser RSA at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, graduating with honours in 1997. Having then continued working as a full time painter, he was selected for a rare chance to do a residency in Hornell's studio down in Kirkubright, a wonderful experience, which culminated in an exhibiton of works produced, 'An Encounted with Hornell, in early 20018. His work is well represented in private and public collections including the Royal Scottish Academy, Princeton Theological Seminary and the Robert Fleming collection.
