Now based in East Lothian, she has a portfolio of commissioned stained glass, ranging from panels and windows for public and private buildings across Scotland, and Kate has exhibited her paintings in many galleries up and down the country, and recently her work has been selected for the British Glass Biennale.
In 2008 Kate was elected an Associate Master Glass Painter of the British Society of Master Glass Painters, and in the same year she was elected as a Professional Member of the society of Scottish Artists.
"I find historical architecture and archaeology fascinating and a source of inspiration for many of my paintings. A vivid mix of colours, textures, shapes, moods and lines are reflected in mixed media materials including inks, graphite and acrylic.
My paintings have been selected for show in exhibitions organised by national bodies including the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Society of Scottish Artists and recently the Royal Watercolour Society in London. In 2004 I won the Cuthbert New young artist award at the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts."
