Peter Flynn studied Drawing and Painting, under Jack Knox and Alberto Morroco, at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art 1975- 80, where he gained a Dip. Art in 1979 and Post Graduate certificate ( highly commended) in 1980.
He was awarded The Elizabeth Greenshield Travelling Scholarship in his final year and travelled to Switzerland where he painted and subsequently exhibited the work in the Compass Gallery Glasgow. During the early eighties Peter was involved in the Dundee Public Arts Programme and was awarded the commission for the ‘Lochee Rd Fence’ and the Polepark Arch, both of which still stand today. He has taught full time, while painting and exhibiting since 1994. Previously Principal Teacher of Art in St John's High School Dundee and Scottish Baccalaureate presenter for Art and Design Interdisciplinary Studies. Also has been, on a number of occasions, on the judging panel for The Angus Open Show at the Meffan in Forfar. He was a founder member of The Artist Lunch Group, A Member of Aberdeen Artists, Professional member of Paisley Art Institute, The Scottish Society of Artists and a member of Visual Arts Scotland Society. Peter exhibits regularly in many major exhibitions such as The RGI, SSA, RSW, The Meffan Annual Show, Aberdeen Artists, Paisley Institute and was a runner up in The Peacock Gallery Aberdeen annual Christmas Show.
