Lyn Evans is currently working as a tutor with our Drawing School. Working in pastels, watercolour and oils, Lyn is predominantly inspired by more unusual colours in nature.
"I have painted for most of my life, from my time at Sunderland Art College to present, pausing briefly to care for my young family and run my dress shop. Landscape is my first love, so the countryside in which I live and the quality of light I enjoy are present in all my work. I will happily sit on a plastic bag in the snow to capture the perfect scene, however when I am not working en plein air, I may be found in my studio working from the drawings and photographs I have collected.
My influences have always included Edward Seago, David Curtis, the Impressionists and the work of the Glasgow Boys, particularly Arthur Melville."
