Alix is a professional artist, based in Hampshire, and is one of the U.K's leading military artists. She says of her work:
"I have two sides to my art - 'civilian' and military. On the civilian side: paintings are done in a variety of styles and media. The subject matter tends to dictate which medium is used. One of my specialities is Oman and the Arabian Gulf. On the military side, scenes of active service, parades, official presentations, caricatures etc
My work can be found in numerous museums from those throughout the United Kingdom to several abroad. My advice is sought by publishers, authors, silversmiths, sculptors, magazines and historians.
I am a Life Member of the Armed Forces Art Society, having chaired it for 6 years - the first not to have been in the armed services and the first woman.
I am also an active member of the Army Arts Society and several others including the Painters Fine Art Society, and I'm a Freeman of the City of London and of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers.
