Founded in 2012 by Fiona McCrindle, the school was set up to provide high quality art classes and tutorage by a number of highly respected professional and experienced artists and art teachers.
In the summer of 2013 the School relocated to Great King Street in the New Town of Edinburgh. Having hosted two succesful 'pop up' exhibitions, The E.D.S Gallery was born, and became a permanent feature of the school, holding monthly exhibitions from the Spring of 2014 to early Spring 2019, at which point we bought The Torrance Gallery from the owners there, who were retiring.
A much-loved institution, established as a family run business in 1970, it is the oldest contemporary art gallery on Edinburgh's famous Dundas Street.
The gallery represented a wide selection of practicing fine artists from across the UK. Many of the artists were brand new to the Edinburgh scene, others were very well known local names. We countine to strive to show a changing variety of talent, both up-and-coming and collectable and revered artists, working across media, style and subject boundaries, at our new home - The Torrance Gallery!
Our much loved drawing and painting courses and classes continue to take place in the large studio at the back of the gallery, please see our website for details of what's on:
